Music Video: BP Valenzuela's General Scheme Of Things
Music videos are art and an extra two cents, and can go from G to R-18 at any given moment. The Thing is giving this a solid PG-13 for some sensitive material.
General Scheme Of Things from The Thing on Vimeo.
"The music video is about feeling helpless... It has the same message as the song. Feeling helpless in a relationship. You want them to stay but at the same time you know it's for the better you just not... Yeah, it's not something you can change by sheer will. Sometimes circumstances really suck. It's about feeling helpless, but not feeling helpless because you're only helpless when you can't acknowledge it and you just try all the time, like try really hard. But then when you know how to micromanage your efforts and you realize when to stop, that could be like taking the higher road... It's basically learning when and where to end it. In the sense that there's no real catalyst for you to know when a relationship is truly ending. I guess you do the same things over and over, but when do you realize that something isn't gonna work. You can realize it in a huge fight, but sometimes you realize it when you're eating dinner and you don't talk about new things. You just kinda go with the motions, go with the flow. It becomes really routine, it's not special anymore. Very pilit. Lost in the general scheme of things."

Video by Arielle
----
Gaby is used to working quietly in the background. The Thing is her first big attempt at taking the lead. She isn't sure how it is going to go, considering that most of her time is spent trying to get her dog to listen to her. On most days, you would find her at her computer, excessively bookmarking links to DIY projects and articles about teenage wunderkind.
Arielle is currently a fine arts student (Information Design). She loves taking pictures, watching movies, going to new places, hoarding books and collaborating with other people to make things. She would like to pursue a career in photography, film and design (yes all three) in the future.
