Doodle Break

One of the greatest talents I have cultivated in all my years as a student is drawing in class without getting caught. It goes without saying that I didn’t get away with it 100% of the time, of course. Drawing is just my way of coping with boredom and stopping myself from falling asleep. Everyone assumes that I zone out of the discussion when I do this, but when I get called on I still manage to answer (awyiss).

I’ve also made it a hobby to draw the people, places, and objects around me while waiting — whether I’m waiting for my food at a restaurant, waiting to get picked up at school, or waiting for a friend. I draw my classmates, other diners, my favorite characters, and my food. My most amusing hobby is probably drawing anyone in my immediate vicinity who looks like they could be retaining that particular position for the longest time. More often than not, they end up moving before I get the chance to finish drawing them, so if you hear me muttering under my breath while I’m bent over my sketchbook, you'll probably know what it’s about.
