Looking back to the heroes of our childhood can tell much of who we used to be and who we wanted to be.

Your favorite character of your prepubescent years may very well not be your fave now, but looking back to the heroes of our childhood can tell much of who we used to be and who we wanted to be.

So what better way to celebrate this than through fan art? In this series, artists are lovingly piecing together their faves by memory  a tribute to the good old days spent lost in a book or cheering at a screen, staying up way past our bedtimes.

First up is an illustration by Justine Daquioag!

"My favorite childhood character is Raven Baxter, because That's So Raven contributed a lot to my own character and personality. I drew her in one of her disguises, Liz Anya. In this disguise, she tried to win her dad's job back from the restaurant he got fired from."

Do you have fan art that you'd like to share with the world? Send it over along with a 3-5 sentence description explaining why you chose to depict the character in that way to thethingonline@gmail.com  we'll be choosing our favorites and posting them! We accept collages, illustrations, and other forms of art as long as it depicts a childhood character.

Justine is a small human who likes watermelons and is able to quote Spongebob on a daily basis. She draws and animates in her free time and is probably watching Agent Carter right now.
